Dragon Quest is a favourite with children in grades 3-5. I am kept on my toes by young minds who have their own ideas about dragons. They may be fantastical, mythical creatures but children take them very seriously and expect them to conform to the norms of dragon lore as they understand it. Children are interested in discussing what happens next and in dissecting specific scenes and how they play out!
Book Clubs and Reading Circles
Although written for middle year readers, Pihoqahiak has themes also of interest to adult readers. Its easy sentence construction, larger print and compelling story, make it accessible and enjoyable for adult learners.
